1/2 oz Bacardi's clear rum
1/2 oz Bacardi's 151 rum
1 oz Hiram Walker Blackberry Brandy
1 oz Hiram Walker Banana liqueur
1/2 oz Grenadine syrup
1 lime
Appleton Estates 12 Year rum
In a blender, add 1 to 1 1/2 cups ice. Add the clear rum, the 151, the Blackberry Brandy, the Banana liqueur, grenadine, and the juice from the lime. Blend until smooth. Pour in a tall glass and add a floater of the Appleton's.
Mai Tai
2 ounces of 12-year old Appleton Estates Rum over shaved ice.
Add juice from one fresh lime.
1/2 ounce Orange Curacao.
1/4 ounce Rock Candy Syrup.
1/2 ounce Orgeat Syrup
Shake vigorously.
If available, Appleton's 17 year rum is preferred. Appleton's is produced by J Wray & Nephew and is the closest that I have found to the original recipe.
For an interesting twist, replace some or all of the lime with pineapple juice.
Mojito
